Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors, who are the founders of The AeroClinic, is comprised of extraordinary public health, medical and global business leaders with both worldwide and national prominence. We are fortunate that our patients will benefit from their experience, knowledge, expertise and guidance.

 

Felker W. Ward, Jr. - Executive Chairman & CEO
Mr. Wards distinguished career includes serving as a Lt. Colonel and Airfield Commander in the United States Army, as well as also being an Attorney and Investment Banker. Along with Herman J. Russell and Jesse Hill, Jr., he co-founded Concessions International, a consumer-driven company which operated concessions at most major U.S. Airports.

Mr. Ward has an undergraduate degree from Tuskegee University and a Juris Doctorate from Emory University. He also serves on the Boards of NYSE-traded AGL Resources, the Atlanta Life Insurance Company, the Tuskegee University Trustees, the Georgia Cancer Coalition and the NFLs Atlanta Falcons Football Team. He is also the past President and current Chairman of the Atlanta Rotary Club and serves on other civic and charitable boards.

Hon. Andrew J. Young, Jr. - Director
Ambassador Young served three terms as a Congressman from Georgia before becoming our Countrys Ambassador to the United Nations during the Carter Administration. Following these achievements, he was Mayor of Atlanta for eight years and Co-Chairman of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. He now heads Good Works International, a global enterprise dedicated to improving economic opportunity for all people.

Ambassador Young, a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom our Nations highest civilian honor has a Bachelors of Science degree from Howard University, a Divinity degree from Hartford Theological Seminary and is a former Executive Director of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. He sits on the Boards of Cox Communications, Diversapack, the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on many civic and charitable boards.

Hon. Dr. David Satcher - Director
Dr. Satcher was the 16th Surgeon General of the United States and also served as Assistant U.S. Secretary of Health. He headed the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and was President of the Morehouse School of Medicine and Meharry Medical College.

Dr. Satcher has an undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Case Western Reserve University. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Physcians and the American College of Preventative Medicine.

Jesse Hill, Jr. - Director
Mr. Hill is recognized as one of the worlds top executives for opening doors to commerce and social progress. For over 15 years he served as Chairman of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Center for Non-Violent Social Change. He was also the long-term Chairman, President & CEO of the Atlanta Life Insurance Company the largest minority-owned insurance enterprise in the nation. Along with Herman J. Russell and Felker W. Ward, Jr., he co-founded Concessions International, a company with operating concessions at most major U.S. Airports.

Mr. Hill has a Bachelor of Science in Math and Physics from Lincoln University and a Masters of Business Administration in Actuarial Science from the University of Michigan and has been President of the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce as well as having served on the Boards of the Georgia Regents and MARTA, Atlantas Rapid Transit Authority.

Dr. William M. McClatchey, FACP, FACR - Director
Dr. McClatchey is a pioneer in bringing together the delivery of Health Services, Information Technology, Strategic Planning and Business Management. During his 25 years as a Primary Care Physician, he has also served as the Chief Medical Information Officer of the Piedmont Hospital Group the largest non-university health care operation in the Southeastern United States. Among his many successes is the planning and implementation of its state-of-the-art Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

Dr. McClatchey is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia and performed his residency at both Duke Medical Center and Emory University. He has provided his keen health industry and business knowledge to corporate boards including BankSouth, Georgias then-largest in-state-based bank, an Internet-based provider of medical database software products, and to state and federal policy makers. Elected by his peer physicians, he now is leading the Piedmont Physicians Group a 105-physician multi-specialty medical practice enterprise in both its service to patients and in its strategic growth.

Dr. Charles I. Wilmer, FACC, FACP - Director
Dr. Wilmer is a recognized specialist in Clinical and Interventional Cardiology. He is active in cardiovascular research and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Wilmer has degrees from Amherst College, the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed a Cardiology fellowship at Emory University-Affiliated hospitals.
